Welcome to the SALT Blog
Whether you've been working out with us since we opened or you're reading this because you just searched "gym in St Andrews" - welcome!
This blog is where we'll share the things our coaches and instructors get asked about most: how to get started with CrossFit or Hyrox, what actually happens in a Reformer Pilates class, how to train around a busy university term, and how to keep up with your fitness routine whether you're a local, a student, or just in town for a few days.
What you'll find here
Class guides - honest breakdowns of what each class involves, who it's for, and what to expect on your first visit, from Reformer & Mat Pilates to CrossFit and Hyrox.
Training tips from our coaches - mobility, strength, and recovery advice you can actually use.
Local content - how SALT fits into what's happening in St Andrews, from the university term to major events in town.
Wellbeing guidance covering our onsite Physiotherapy, Sports Massage and Nutrition services.
Who SALT is for
We say it on our homepage and we mean it: locals, students, visitors - everyone's welcome at SALT. You don't need to be "fit" to start, and you don't need to commit to a single discipline. Many of our members mix classes across the week - Hyrox one day, Reformer Pilates the next, a Yoga class to round off the week.
All you have to do is turn up - our coaches and instructors will do the rest by expertly guiding you through each class. We promise it will be the best hour of your day!
Ready to get started?
Have a look at our membership options or pop in for a chat with one of our coaches - we're based at Space Student Accommodation on Kilrymont Road and always happy to show you around.
More guides coming soon.
