  • Archie

    HEAD COACH

    Archie is a Director of SALT and leads our community as Head Coach. Archie has been passionate about health and fitness since his very first gym membership at the age of 12. Having made every mistake in his own journey, he is dedicated to helping others through theirs, regardless of their starting point or goals. Archie has extensive experience coaching a wide range of people, from those just finding their feet in the gym to those with competition and performance goals. He brings a wealth of competitive success to his coaching, including setting three Scottish weightlifting records, qualifying for international competitions, and being a top 3 Scottish male CrossFitter for three years in a row. With qualifications including CrossFit Level 2, Gymnastics Coach Level 1, and PT/Group Instructor Level 2, Archie is passionate about helping you achieve your goals.

  • Al

    GYM MANAGER

    As a CrossFit Level 2 coach and our Gym Manager, Al brings five years of hands-on gym experience to SALT. He works with a broad range of individuals, ranging from those in early motherhood, to senior members of our community. Al is passionate about helping people train with intention and truly enjoy the process, tailoring every session to improve strength, mobility, and overall performance based on where you are in your fitness journey. His well-rounded and holistic approach looks beyond the workout, incorporating sleep, food, mindset, and recovery as vital parts of the equation. In addition to his coaching and management role, Al is also one of SALT’s Directors, helping shape the strategic direction of the gym. Behind the scenes, he keeps the day-to-day running smoothly, supporting members and assisting our Head Coach, Archie, to make sure everything clicks on and off the gym floor.

  • Alexis

    DIRECTOR

    Alexis is a Director at SALT and a career expert in brand, marketing, and proposition design. She has led teams for major brands including Staples, The Harley Medical Group, and Tesco, delivering record-breaking sales and designing products that drive sustainable growth. In recognition of her commercial results and leadership success, Alexis was named a ‘Rising Marketing Star’ by The Marketing Society. She lives on a farm in St Andrews with her husband, Dougie, and their two young children. For Alexis, health and wellbeing are cornerstones of her personal life, alongside traveling with family and a commitment to giving back to underserved communities. She brings this wealth of professional expertise and personal passion to help shape the entire SALT brand and member experience.

  • Josh

    DIRECTOR

    Josh is a Director at SALT and a highly accomplished entrepreneur who has led a distinguished career in the lighting and entertainment industry for more than thirty years. As the Founder and Global Director of Design for 3LR Design, he has consulted on hundreds of world-renowned projects, from the National Theatre of the UK to the MGM Las Vegas Sphere. Josh maintains that CrossFit literally saved his life, a profound experience that ignited the deep passion for fitness and community he now brings to SALT. A CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and Masters Athlete, he is dedicated to helping others discover their own strength and reach their goals. When he’s not lighting up the world, Josh loves making a great espresso, playing guitar, and spending time with family and the great friends he has made since moving to Scotland.

  • Carrie

    DIRECTOR

    Dr Carrie Ruxton is a Director at SALT, bringing a wealth of professional insight from her 20-year career running a successful B2B consultancy business. As an experienced public sector board member and a qualified Dietitian, she provides invaluable guidance to the team. At SALT, Carrie oversees the gym's finances and legal framework to keep everything in check. When she's not focused on the business, her true passion is fitness and community; she loves CrossFit, running, and the camaraderie of training with gym buddies. Carrie understands the journey of building strength firsthand and was incredibly proud to achieve her first pull-up last year.
